Testimonials

I am truly grateful for Hope Rises. I was welcomed from prison into a loving, encouraging, supportive & healthy home that has exactly the right amount of accountability that I needed to start a new life. From healthy eating, trauma classes, support groups, counseling, yoga, step studies & gardening, I have replaced old negative behaviors with positive skills that I will use for the rest of my life. Through encouragement and support from Kim, I have accomplished more in the past 8 months than I have in my entire life. I have made huge progress with my career and am now able to serve those still in prison.

Hope Rises Wellness and Recovery House has changed every facet of my life. Never being exposed to any kind of recovery or treatment I didn’t know what to expect. Upon being released from prison I arrived at the Hope Rises House and immediately knew I was exactly where I needed to be; I felt at peace. Hope Rises has given me the tools, resources, and a network of people I will use for the rest of my life. This program goes above and beyond anything I could have ever expected. In addition to building new relationships I now have the opportunity to rebuild the ones I destroyed in my active addiction. I am so grateful for Hope Rises and everyone involved with this program.

Hope Rises is in a league of its own by bringing a holistic approach to recovery. Treating my mind, body, and spirit was exactly what I needed to get my life back together again. The structure of the program really helped me transition from prison back into society. Hope Rises has an amazingly awesome network of people who lovingly mentor and provide direction and hope to the residents. Through the collaboration of Hope Rises and Goodwill Industries of Arkansas and I have made tremendous progress in my career and continue to give back to people who are transitioning out of prison. I am happy that I made the choice to go to Hope Rises because it completely changed my life for the better. I will forever be grateful for the program and would recommend it to anyone who is honestly seeking sobriety and a new way of life.

Hope Rises Wellness and Recovery House is the best transitional living home I have ever been to. When I was released from prison, I anticipated arriving to a halfway house like all the other ones I had encountered in my addiction. I knew that it had a mind, body, and spirit approach to recovery but I didn’t know what to expect. When I got here, I was introduced to a whole new way of living: a healthy, fun, and holistic lifestyle that was attainable to maintain with effort and dedication. The family atmosphere at the home allowed me to make close friendships with people that I will cherish for the rest of my life. In the short time that I have lived here I have acquired a collection of life skills, became goal-oriented, learned about health and nutrition, learned how to garden and cook my own food, gained full time employment, reconnected with my family, became actively involved in my son’s life, and most importantly developed a strong relationship with Christ. I have also learned how to embrace my mistakes and use them as opportunities to grow. I know I would not be where I am at right now if it wasn’t for Hope Rises. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to have come here!! I recommend anyone who is serious about recovery to get involved with this house. It will change your life!

My experience at Hope Rises has been a blessing to me. I have been in and out of jail and prison since I was 15. I have tried many other programs and nothing has worked long term for me. I have been to halfway houses and treatment centers who gave me a lot of helpful information and tools. However, I was unable to grasp hold of a recovery program that really worked. I feel as though Hope Rises has been the answer for me. It is small so there is a lot of individual attention given to each resident, which makes it easier for staff to focus on individual needs. I really feel as though everyone that is involved here truly cares about our best interest and wants to see us succeed. The program does have rules and regulations. That is for our own success. Though, I feel like the harder I work at something, the more I will get out of it. My life is important to me, so I am willing to do the necessary work to insure that I don’t relapse or go back to prison!

-Meagan, Hope Rises Resident

I first learned of Hope Rises in April of 2016 when my daughter became a resident. After enduring over 13 years of her addictive behavior, in and out of prison, in and out of rehab, I was again skeptical about anything positive happening. While I didn’t want to “jump on this bandwagon” right away, I was willing to give it time to see how it goes. It didn’t take long. About the second week, I stopped by to see the house, meet Kim, the staff and other residents. From that moment I was “on board”. This program is different I was told. And it is. Accountability, job-seeking skills training, healthy lifestyle training (eating-exercise), counseling, House responsibilities and AA/NA meetings requirements. Residents are taught to take responsibility for every aspect of their lives. There’s also a family support group that meets regularly at the HR house. Hope Rises not only helps change residents lives, it impacts their families as well. I know now that “addiction” is not a choice, but a disease. I’ve learned a lot. And still have a lot more to learn. And that’s okay because I know where I can do that. I believe in Kim and her team so much that I have gone from a “skeptic” to a regular “Volunteer”.
